Hello Fresh! Day 1 Of My Trial Week: Shrimp Spaghetti With A Kick

Meal kit delivery services are gaining popularity quickly these days, but I’d never used one before now. Then my friend sent me a promo code to get a week’s worth of free meals, so I thought I’d give it a shot. I mean, free food is free food, right? Because I have a household of two, my trial week included 3 dinners for two, and it’s normally about $50 (not too bad price wise if you normally cook fresh stuff all the time anyway but we don’t because sometimes the budget is ramen).

The first meal I made from the box was Shrimp Spaghetti with a kick. It’s basically your average pasta tossed together with shrimp, zucchini, a chili pepper for heat, garlic herb butter, and some shredded Parmesan. I’ve made similar dishes several times but I’ve never thought to add a chili pepper, and the heat was delightful. Also, even though I’m lactose intolerant, butter and Parmesan don’t affect me much so this dish was safe for me.

The finished product was delicious! Two thumbs up from myself and hubby, even though he doesn’t like zucchini and ate around it. Best of all, it required no grocery shopping trip and only took about 20 minutes to make.

I have two more meals to make from my kit and I’ll update as I go. Who knows, if we upgrade to the point of not resorting to ramen as often, I could get used to this!
