How I Made My Mom Stop Leaving Every Day – By Crackers

Hello humans! I haven’t been able to write to you in awhile because my mom’s been so busy, and I need her to help me type because my paws are too big for her phone or computer.

It’s been a long stressful few months for me as a dog. My mom was home with us (me and Miles) all the time for awhile, and then she started leaving again. I was very upset when she started leaving and staying away for hours at a time; doesn’t she know that I require regular petting and cuddling? When she stayed home all the time, she would spend a lot of time at her desk and didn’t pay as much attention to me as I wanted, but at least she was there and I could curl up on Mom and Dad’s bed and watch her.

I knew I had to do something to make her see that I need her at home and it’s not fair to leave me all the time. What if she never came back? So I began following her even more closely, paying attention to when she started changing her clothes and throwing around the word “work.” Why do you need to work anyway, Mom? Your job is spoiling me! Every time I saw her getting ready to go to this “work” place, I stared her down until I got her attention and then put on my best sad puppy eyes.

Wouldn’t that look make you want to stay home forever? I didn’t think my plan was working because she kept leaving, but then, one day it all changed! Suddenly, she started staying home all the time again! She still sits at her desk a lot, but at least she’s here where I can see her, and sometimes she takes a special break just to pet me and cuddle me.

I won!! All I wanted was for my mom to be home with me all the time; turns out that the sad puppy eyes did the trick. I’ve got my human wrapped around my little paw, and life is good!

I’m going to take a nap now, but hopefully I’ll be able to talk to you humans again soon!
